The Magician's Gold Card

A card is selected and returned to the deck. The performer explains that some magicians are gifted with the "Golden Touch". This is not to be confused, he explains, with the Midas Touch, in which an ordinary object was changed into gold. In the art of magic, the Golden Touch referred to the skill level of the prestidigitator. The magician then demonstrates his skill that are worth their weight in gold by spreading the cards face up to show one card reversed in the deck. The spectator is told to turn the card over and make sure it's their card. Upon touching the face down card the spectator gets a very strange tactile sensation. For the playing card now feels like metal (surprise #1). Upon turning it over to see the face, the spectator is surprised to see it is his card, but it has magically turned into a gold metal playing card!
